York Minster commissioned Supriya Nagarajan to create a unique Evensong Anthem to celebrate the cathedral and its involvement with National Interfaith Week. Working with Robert Sharpe, the Minster’s Director of Music and the Minster Choir, Supriya, working collaboratively with sound artist and composer Duncan Chapman, created an entirely new and original work that provided a spectacular musical performance towards the end of Interfaith Week.
Marking the culmination of a three year partnership between York Minster and Manasamitra, the piece left a fitting legacy as the Cathedral filled with the sound of South Indian music and the beautiful Anglican choral tradition in combination.
