Our pot and kettle and our tea bags are travelling to York to be filmed!
We are now filming The Sound of Tea and will be releasing the film for you to download in time for Christmas. New live music and performance art mixes with lighting, soundscapes and technology-filled tables, capturing and reflecting the music in real time.
We are currently in the process of preparing, planning and pondering the wonderful project whose main theme is “happiness”. This project in partnership with the Kirklees Biennale is currently inviting schools and families to apply to digitally work with our team to be part of the One Voice… Interested? Contact us.
The festival has taken a fantastic Digital turn and we are shortly going to announce the series of artists who will be working with us on a series of unique and special performances.

There is just one place left on Manasamitra’s unique mentoring opportunity, available to an artist/composer at an early stage of your music career. If you are interested in developing your composition abilities within a cross-genre environment, contact us now. You will need to be interested in working with other music forms to create something genuinely new and original, working closely with Artistic Director/Composer Supriya Nagarajan.
This project has been re-worked in light of the COVID-19 pandemic; full details will be provided. The successful mentee will work towards developing a new work for public presentation.

Due to the current Coronovirus Covid-19 pandemic, Manasamitra has postponed all performances for the Dewsbury ‘Not-The-Fringe’ Festival at Dewsbury Minster until further notice. Performances of The Sound of Tea have been re-scheduled to June 2021 and we are planning an online version, to be filmed once current restrictions are lifted. The South Asian Female Composers Call-Out is still going ahead. We have re-worked the project to be delivered remotely and are still seeking suitable applications. Manasamitra is offering a unique mentoring opportunity to three young women living and working in the North of England who are at an early stage of their music careers and who are interested in developing their composition abilities within a cross-genre environment. You will need to be interested in working with other music forms to create something genuinely new and original. Artistic Director / Composer Supriya Nagarajan will work with the successful mentees in both group and one-to-one situations to develop new works for public presentation.
